Maldives Resorts You Can Afford

Tahiti might have created the overwater villas, but the Maldives perfected them. The Maldives is hands down the top honeymoon destination in the world! But it is not one of the most economical places; it is home to some of the most expensive resorts worldwide. Can you head to the Maldives without emptying your bank account? I'm here to tell you that you can. There isn't much we can do to decrease the cost of getting you to the Maldives. You can find a stunning resort for a price that is affordable. These are the Maldives resorts you can afford.

Set along the Malé Atoll, Olhuvel is a Garden of Eden containing towering palms, sandy beaches, and a tranquil lagoon with 60 stilted bungalows. All villas feature sun decks, and your view will stretch for miles. Up the romance factor by booking a Jacuzzi villa for an open-air hot tub on your extensive patio. The overwater bungalows start at $350 per night, a fantastic price for the Maldives!

Are you not going to be happy if you can't get an overwater bungalow with a pool? Then head to the gorgeous Oblu Nature Helengeli; it is home to the least expensive OWBs with private pools on the planet. One hundred sixteen villas comprised of vibrant, tropical interiors amidst lush vegetation. The resort has its house-reef home to a spectacular display of marine inhabitants. An exhilarating 50 minutes speedboat ride from the airport, Oblu is a favorite amongst avid explorers, snorkelers, and channel divers with its island-inspired, bohemia vibe. Prices for OWBs begin at $300 a night.

Elaidhoo Resort is a lovely 4-Star resort encircled by palm trees and white sand beaches. An island paradise on Alifu Alifu Atoll offers comfy accommodations with lavish amenities. With 112 spacious, ornate, and elegantly adorned villas and an abundance of activities, you will have the holiday of a lifetime here. With prices starting at $290 a night, you will have plenty of money left for upgrades.

The Maldives is interchangeable with OWBs, and Reethi Beach is one of the most cost-effective choices in the world. It boasts 30 semi-detached water villas, each at 656 square feet. Their villas perch over the crystal blue waters of the Indian Ocean; they offer a spacious sitting area and a good-sized balcony with direct access to the lagoon. Reethi's prices start at $325 a night, making it one of the cheapest overwater bungalows!

If you are searching for an affordable Maldives water villa getaway, Summer Island should be on your shortlist. With 20 renewed overwater villas, Summer Island offers one of the best value globally, priced at $300. Summer Island does offer all-inclusive plans, which is essential for couples heading to the Maldives because food is pricey.

The iconic Hard Rock offers a back-stage pass to diving, spa treatments, and a gorgeous stretch of soft beach. Vivid colors help the exotic surroundings flow inside modern interiors. Some rooms can be found inside bright white cubes on the beach, while other villas jut out over the sea and have direct access to the lagoon. Hard Rock Hotel Maldives will satisfy many couples with prices starting at $500.

The Mercure Maldives has launched with surprisingly excellent reviews. It is home to 43 water villas. One exciting thing about this resort is that it has a small airport to get here on a regular domestic flight rather than the seaplane service. If rates remain at $300 per night, the Mercure will be turning away couples.

Kandima was a late-comer to the Maldivian tourist market and markedly different from the classic honeymooner resorts. It's aimed at sports-loving, party-going couples and has various accommodation options, from affordable studios to luxury pool villas. Kandima combines wild parties in the beach club, expansive dining options, and the opportunity to watch dolphins from your bathroom; it's about authentic hospitality with a playful spirit of a private island. Prices start at $600 a night.

Vilu Reef is both affordable and luxurious. If you are looking for a high-end resort with a small price tag, this is the resort for you. The rates at Sun Siyam are even more remarkable when you consider that the Jacuzzi Water Villa ($400 per night) is huge on both the inside and outside. The location is remote, so a seaplane is required, but Sun Siyam includes breakfast and dinner every day.

Kandooma is the Maldives' most accessible and budget-friendly resort, with prices starting at $280. Set on the lovely, palm-lined island in the South Male Atoll, plan on a holiday packed with relaxation, sensuous spa treatments, and fun in the sun. Whether you're an active adventurer or just fancy lying on the beach all day, you can do it at Kandooma. Surrounded by world-class dive sites and surfing spots, the resort lies 40km south of the airport.

You will adore the seclusion offered at Drift Thelu. With 20 OWBs and only 30 bungalows in total, the Drift Thelu is one of the smaller hotels in the Maldives and one of the newest. Do you want to get away from everyday cares? You need to know that the island doesn't have TVs! But with prices starting at $450 per night, it is a steal.

With ribbons of pristine beaches, world-class diving, fine dining, and an incredible spa, Kuramathi is considered a top hotel in the Maldives. It is one of the nation's most popular resorts, and it's perfect if you're looking for a mixture of relaxing and busy days. Here, pathways weave through lush foliage, leading to the excellent dotted facilities around this large island. There are two oceanfront infinity pools plus a lagoon-style pool shadowed by palm trees and snorkeling on the breathtaking house reef. Prices start at $500 per night.

The Furaveri offers 14 elegant and massive OWBs starting at $260 per night, one of the newest entries in the crowded Maldives luxury resort market. It is a miracle if you can find enormous overwater bungalows in the Maldives for under $500 per night. The island is relatively isolated even for the Maldives, but the plane ride offers magnificent views of this gorgeous corner of the world.

You can find remarkable resorts with minuscule prices if you look. And now you don't have to look! Start with these resorts if you are looking for a fantastic honeymoon resort in the Maldives but don't want to pay a small fortune.
