Paris has no shortage of incredible, romantic honeymoon hotels. Paris has some of the most beautiful honeymoon hotels in the world, but the Plaza Athenee is the most romantic hotel in all of Paris. Don't let the aura of sober grace fool you; Plaza offers a sense of playfulness. Opened in 1913, with its signature red awnings fronting the stately Avenue Montaigne, the hotel has ties to the fashion world dating back to 1947 when Christian Dior's held his first runways show at Plaza Athenee. It is still a fashion icon; Sex and the City and The Devil Wears Prada utilized the gorgeous hotel as backdrops when they filmed in Paris. The hotel is ideal for luxury lovers on the prestigious Avenue Montaigne in the 8th Arrondissement. Montaigne houses significant designer stores (YSL, Louis Vuitton, and Chanel) and the flagship Dior across the street from Plaza Athenee. The theatres and cabarets of the 'Golden Triangle' district, such as the Theatre des Champs-Elysees and Crazy Horse, are within walking distance. If you want to dine with A-Listers, take advantage of L'Avenue, the restaurant is steps away from the hotel.

Service and Facilities
You can expect warm and efficient service; the staff goes out of their way to ensure that all guests feel special. When we arrived, hotel porters lined up at the entrance to take our bags and welcome us to the hotel. When we returned from exploring the lovely city, the staff would greet us by name and take care to remember our favorite after-dinner requests. Plaza Athenee also offers packing and unpacking services.
No place in Paris does beauty quite like the Dior Institut. As a nod to the relationship between the House of Dior and the hotel, Dior designed the fabulous spa. The spa offers couture-inspired treatments. You can get one-on-one skincare consultations and customized massages utilizing Dior products. While the gym isn't huge, it possesses modern equipment in a lovely setting.
